Summary: Today there is a controversial gap between protective purposefully-organized school environment and both rich and extremely seductive media environment. The longer educators do not implement media resources fully into the system of education the bigger this gap will be. Talking of innovative approaches that have to be urgently found and implemented we consider media-education to be one of them. We consider media literacy to be the end result of media education and media text to be its chief component. Regarding a media text we suggest there should be three stages in the work with it: preparatory work, direct work with media text and post-text work. The latter corresponds to the level of unprepared speech, and is also embodied in the ability to create their own media texts. According to the results of our study, an effective tool for the introduction of quality media education is the active implementation of media educational technologies, the further development of which refers to the prospects for further development in the chosen direction.
